Brea Chamber Member Code of Conduct
The Brea Chamber of Commerce has adopted the following Code of Conduct to which all members agree to adhere, as acknowledged during payment of membership dues. Each Member of the Brea Chamber of Commerce is an important contributor to the Chamber’s mission: “to support a thriving business community and economy in Brea.”
By joining the Chamber, each Member agrees to conduct themselves in a professional businesslike manner. Each Member represents the Brea Chamber to the public, other Members, and staff. The Chamber is committed to providing a respectful and professional environment free of discrimination and harassment, where all individuals are treated with dignity, and can contribute fully, and have equal opportunities and treatment.
The objective of this Code of Conduct is to ensure that all Members are aware that hostility, disrespect, harassment, discrimination, and any inappropriate behavior are unacceptable practices and are incompatible with the standards and professional code of conduct of the Brea Chamber of Commerce.
Conduct with the General Public and Members:

Conduct all work and business affairs professionally, with fairness to all concerned and in compliance with the Chamber Code of Conduct.

Conduct all business and Chamber activities professionally, without prejudice as to an individual’s age, gender, race, color, religion, national origin, handicap, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, or other protected trait or class.

Conduct all interactions with the highest level of professionalism and respect.
Conduct with Staff:
Certain rules regarding Member behavior relating to interactions with staff are necessary for efficient business operations and for the benefit, safety and effectiveness of all employees of the Chamber. Conduct that interferes with operations, discredits the association, is inappropriate, unsatisfactory or demeaning will not be tolerated.
Examples of behavior in interactions with Staff that will not be tolerated are as follows. Please note that this list is not intended to be, nor should it be, considered an exclusive list of inappropriate behavior.

Being discourteous or unprofessional

Being threatening or intimidating

Use of profanity or abusive language

Sexual harassment, verbal inuendo or any other form of illegal harassment or inappropriate behavior
To report inappropriate behavior, please submit contact the Chamber CEO at email address: lacy@breachamber.com.
Reports will be forwarded to the Chamber Executive Committee for consideration which could include investigation and resolution. Where deemed necessary, the Chamber will exhaust all efforts to investigate the incident, and a report of findings will be prepared by the Executive Committee and shared with the Board of Directors if appropriate. As deemed appropriate, Membership may be revoked based on findings.
