What does diversity in the workforce really look like, and how can it benefit your company and team? Many companies continue to fail at creating a diverse company culture simply because they are missing the one factor that must go hand in hand with diversity; inclusion.
Leaders understand that a diverse workforce of women, ethnicities, and LGBT individuals creates a competitive edge as their clientele is typically just as diverse. However, a gap still continues to persist between what looks good on paper and the inclusion that is (or is not) taking place. Advocate Vernā Myers states, ?Diversity is being invited to the party. Inclusion is being asked to dance.? In addition, a recent article from the Harvard Business Review states that ?without inclusion, the crucial connections that attract diverse talent, encourage their participation, foster innovation, and lead to business growth won?t happen.?
