Description
With the recent passage and signing into law of the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016, we wanted to take this opportunity to offer a briefing on intellectual property (IP) rights - patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets - and their critical importance to the business community and to our nation's economic competitiveness. IP provides businesses with the means to protect their brands, and incentivizes innovation by offering the hope of a return on the investments of time and resources needed to bring a new product to market.
We encourage you to join us for a conference call next Thursday, May 26th, for a high-level briefing from the U.S. Chamber's Global Intellectual Property Center (GIPC) on the importance of IP to the business community, jobs, and innovation. GIPC will also cover some of the hot domestic and international issues in IP today.
