Description
Economic Forecast Luncheon: An Outlook on Regional Trends & Global Challenges
Will business investments pick up? Is the labor market fully recovered? Will housing get back to normal? How smooth is the path to normalization considering Federal interest rates? Is a new global recession brewing in China?
Answers to these questions and more will be discussed during a luncheon presentation on the economy at the Fullerton Marriott on Friday, Nov. 6, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Leading the discussion will be Mira Farka, Ph.D., associate professor of economics and co-director of the Center for Economic Analysis and Forecasting at California State University, Fullerton.
Her lively and insightful presentations make Dr. Farka a popular in-demand keynote speaker on economic and financial issues, selling out events wherever she appears. This luncheon will be no exception, as the North Orange County Chamber once again hosts the perennial event, and for the second year in collaboration with the Brea Chamber of Commerce.
This presentation is ideal for anyone who wishes to stay abreast of global and regional economies as they relate to running and managing a business, regardless of size or location.
A full-course lunch is included with the presentation. The Fullerton Marriott is located at 701 Nutwood Ave., on the campus of Cal State Fullerton. Check-in is 11:00-11:30.
Prior to joining Cal State Fullerton, Dr. Farka worked as a senior economist for Deutsche Bank, New York, where she was responsible for developing economic forecast models for the US and global economies.
Dr. Farka received her Ph.D. in economics from Columbia University, New York, with concentration in financial economics, monetary policy, and applied macroeconomics. She has published in leading academic journals and has received numerous awards for her research. She was also named the 2013 Outstanding Faculty for the College of Business and Economics. She is routinely interviewed by various media sources in her areas of expertise.
This luncheon presentation is co-presented by North Orange County and Brea Chambers of Commerce.
