SR-57 Northbound Widening Project
Construction Alert – January 30, 2012

Segment 1: Chapman Full Freeway Closure
Segment 2: Lane & Ramp Closures from Katella to SR-91
 

WHAT: Construction crews will continue removing falsework at Chapman Ave. bridge through a full closure. Also lane and ramp closures will continue from Katella Ave. to SR-91 for pavement grinding and restriping the freeway.
 

  •  Segment 1 (Orangethorpe to Lambert) Closures:
    •  NB SR-57: Full Closure at Chapman Ave. 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.; Monday January 30 to Friday February 3.
      • Detour Routes:
        • EB Chapman Ave. to NB Commonwealth Ave. to EB Nutwood Ave. to SB Placentia Ave.
        • WB Chapman Ave. to NB Placentia Ave. to WB Nutwood Ave. to SB. State College Blvd.
        • NB 57 Chapman Ave. off-ramp to EB Chapman Ave. to NB. Placentia Ave. to WB Nutwood Ave. to SB State College Blvd.
        • SB 57 Chapman Ave. off-ramp to WB Chapman Ave. to NB Commonwealth Ave. to EB Nutwood Ave. to SB Placentia Ave.

 

  • Segment 2 (Katella to Lincoln) Closures:
    • NB 57: Katella Ave. to SR-91, Lanes 3,4. 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.; Monday January 30 and Thursday February 2.
    •  NB 57: Katella Ave. to SR-91, Lanes 1, 2 & HOV (carpool lane). 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.; Tuesday January 31.
    • NB 57: Katella to Lincoln Ave., on-ramps and off-ramps (intermittent). 11:59 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.; Monday January 30 – Tuesday January 31 and Thursday February 2.

California law requires vehicles to safely reduce speed, move over and merge into unoccupied lanes when emergency vehicles, construction vehicles, or tow trucks are displaying flashing warning lights.


OCTA and Caltrans remind motorists to use extra caution and reduce speeds when driving through construction zones.
