Chamber Stresses Power Line Safety

Power lines bring electricity to your home or office, but touching a power line, whether overhead or on the ground, may cause serious injury or death. The Brea Chamber urges you to put safety first.

NEVER make contact with overhead power lines.Do not approach or touch the line or anything in contact with the line. Call 911. Inform the operator that it’s an electrical emergency. ALWAYS assume that all wires are energized.

Southern California Edison has more safety tips on their web site, as well as a a series of safety videos. The first video involves safety around downed power lines. It is only 30 seconds long and is shown in both English and Spanish. Please view the video and then share the information with your employees and your family. The time spent could save a life.
