Brea Chamber Educates Business Community during National Preparedness Month
Speaker panel at Chamber’s monthly breakfast to discuss importance of having a disaster plan before, during and after an emergency
Are you ready? Fire season is upon us, we're long overdue for the "big one" and stories of workplace violence are increasingly reported on the news. In honor of National Preparedness Month, the Brea Chamber's Business Outlook Breakfast on Wednesday, September 15 is focused on helping your company cope with emergency situations. The breakfast will feature a speaker panel from various local agencies discussing why your business should be prepared and what you can expect in local emergency situations.“The vast majority of businesses have not made any preparations for an emergency,” said Ric Clough of PSL Color Graphics and chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors.“As the saying goes – an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Proper preparation will lessen the negative impact of any type of disaster.”
The breakfast will be held at Embassy Suites, 900 E. Birch Street in Brea. Doors will open at 7 a.m., with the program beginning promptly at 7:30 a.m. The event is open to the public and non-members are welcome to attend. Legislative updates will also be a part of the program. Tickets for Chamber members are $30 per person or $175 for a table for 8. Individual tickets for non-members are $40. Tickets are $5 less per person if purchased by September 10, and are available online at www.BreaChamber.com and at the Chamber office, located at 1 Civic Center Circle in Brea.
“The Chamber’s job is to provide business access to the resources they need in order to succeed,” said Clough. “The Chamber’s Business Outlook Breakfast Series provides a forum to learn best practice strategies and to make powerful business connections.” Upcoming Business Outlook Breakfast Series program topics will focus on workforce development and business law.
