National Night Out is an opportunity to learn about how ordinary citizens are essential to preserving better neighborhoods. Meet your local police, who will share crime-fighting tips and traffic safety reminders, offer fingerprint services and display motorcycles, SWAT vehicles and other gear used for public safety work. The Brea Fire Department will be on hand with information about water watchers, wild fire prevention and partnerships in emergency preparedness. RACES volunteers will be there to talk about their citizen radio network.
The Community Services Department will provide a kids-friendly sports activity, facepainting, plus early registration for the 2010-11 After School Program and recreational classes. Also, pick up information about services available from the Family Resource Center. Brea’s Public Works Department will have information about protecting your environment through careful use of resources like water and electricity and using proper disposal practices.
